A xeric thermophyle usually saxicole species which sometimes acts like a ruderal; found frequently in the Balkan and Pannonian realms in areas where the average multinannual temperature exceeds 10 degrees C. In Romania is to be found only in the southern regions of the country.

Pictures were taken in May 2006 on the andesitic rocks at the top of Deva citadel, Hunedoara county. The photos are not as suggestive as we would like to be, especially in concerning the leaves of the species which are otherwise very characteristic but hopefully we will replace them soon.
